About Motorcycle Trial

Motorcycle Trial is the deliberate opposite of everything fast on this site. Your bike moves in small controlled increments and hops rather than flying, and the obstacles are stacked blocks, logs and ledges that have to be cleared with the right amount of hop from the right position.

It works because the hop is a two-part input. A short press gives a small hop that clears a log; a long press gives a high hop that needs a run-up and lands hard. Getting the wrong one is the usual failure, and it never feels like the game's fault.

Sections are self-contained. Clear one and you bank it, then the next appears with one more element in it. There is no clock at all, which puts the game closer to a puzzle than to a race — take as long as you like looking at an obstacle before committing.

Objective

Clear as many trial sections as you can without touching a foot down or falling. Each section cleared scores, and sections gain elements as you progress.

How to play

  1. Press Start Game to roll up to the first section.
  2. Use small throttle inputs to position yourself. Precision matters more than speed here.
  3. Tap the hop key for a small hop, or hold it to charge a higher one.
  4. Land on top of a block, or clear it entirely — both are valid lines.
  5. Reach the section marker to bank it. There is no time limit, so read each obstacle first.

Tips

  • Set up your position before you charge the hop. A perfect hop from the wrong spot fails; an average hop from the right spot usually clears.
  • Charge time maps directly to hop height. Learn three lengths — short, medium, full — and you can clear almost everything.
  • Landing on top of a block is often easier than clearing it, and it gives you a fresh platform to hop from.
  • Reverse is not a failure. Backing up two bike lengths to get a straight approach is standard trials practice.

Questions about Motorcycle Trial

What are motorcycle trial games?

Trials are precision riding events. Instead of racing, riders cross obstacle sections without putting a foot down, so the games based on them reward control and placement over speed.

Is there a time limit?

None at all. You can sit in front of an obstacle for as long as you want, which is what makes this the most thoughtful game in the collection.

Why did my bike fall over on a flat landing?

Landing with too much pitch — nose too high or too low — tips the bike even on level ground. Straighten up before you touch down.
